Bicycle packaging The present invention relates to bicycle packaging for transport or bicycle transport packaging of a semi-ready bicycle for delivery to an end user. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for packaging a semi-ready bicycle in a bicycle packaging for transport or bicycle transport packaging according to the present invention.
It is known that a bicycle is delivered to an end user with the bicycle being made roadworthy at the dealer of the bicycle. This bicycle reseller receives the bicycle in a condition which prepares the bicycle inappropriately, in other words, the bicycle is not ready for use. The present inventor recognized that it is an advantage to deliver a bicycle in a roadworthy condition to an end user or consumer purchasing the bicycle from a central delivery location for delivery by a parcel service. Use was made herein of a box packaging in which the bicycle is arranged ready for use.
Such a packaging method has major drawbacks, namely that its shipment is impractical due to high costs and separate planning of the shipment and because it is outside standard parameters of dimensions of parcel services.
In order to overcome such drawbacks, the present invention provides a bicycle package for transport or bicycle transport package for providing a package during transport of a semi-road bicycle, comprising a bicycle frame, for delivery to an end user, the bicycle package comprising:
- a casing, such as a box-like casing, providing protection for the semi-road bicycle arranged therein, - a support assembly arranged in the casing for supporting a part of the semi-roadworthy bicycle, preferably the front fork, wherein - the semi-running bicycle is roadworthy apart from an assembled collection of parts.
The bicycle transport package or bicycle transport package according to the present invention provides the advantage that a semi-ready bicycle is deliverable to the end consumer.
An advantage of such a semi-ready bicycle is that it has the same advantages for the end user as a roadworthy bicycle, except for a few operations that transfer the semi-ready bicycle to the roadworthy bicycle.
The end user must provide for the final assembly of the assembly collection of parts.
Preferably, the assembly set of parts is assembled such that the assembly can be performed by virtually any end user, preferably using a manual, more preferably without having to have any bicycle mechanic skills or specific bicycle mechanic skills. A further advantage is that the bicycle transport package or bicycle transport package according to the present invention may have a relatively small size in case, for example, a front wheel is not assembled in the semi-ready bicycle.
This makes the packaging easier to handle by the end user, but also by a transport service.
It is furthermore an advantage of a bicycle packaging according to the present invention that a semi-ready bicycle can be delivered to the end user by means of a parcel service, wherein the bicycle packaging has a limited format, at least a format that corresponds to parcel services according to predetermined transportable format, such as a format that is comparable in side view at 1:00 to that of, for example, a large-screen TV set. As a result, the transport costs are considerably lower than with the packaging according to the prior art, which did not meet such predetermined conditions for a transportable format.
Such a format thus provides advantages as follows. The format can be planned in as standard within the standard format, whereas the box according to the state of the art could have a separate planning requirement.
According to a first preferred embodiment, the assembly set comprises a front wheel assembly, preferably a front wheel assembly which is detached from the semi-ready bicycle. Using such an unassembled front wheel assembly it is advantageously realized that the bicycle with a separate front wheel assembly can be packed in the bicycle packaging. In such a way, for example, a circumscribed rectangle of the bicycle without a front wheel is considerably more compact, which can be seen, for example, when imagining a substantially complete bicycle without a front wheel in which the front fork rests on the same surface as the rear wheel. , compared to a substantially fully assembled bicycle in which the two wheels support one another behind each other on the same surface. Without the front wheel mounted, both the saddle and the handlebars are located, but the handlebars are to a greater extent lower than with the front wheel mounted, furthermore the forward point of the bicycle protrudes considerably less than with the front wheel mounted. As a result, such a preferred embodiment can advantageously be given a relatively compact design.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the bicycle package comprises at least one support element for supporting a bicycle part, preferably a bicycle part in an unassembled condition. Preferably, such a support element is . Preferably, one side of the hub can be arranged on and/or supported by a tube of the bicycle frame. In this way it can be advantageously realized that the front wheel overlaps with the frame in side view, such as a rigid part of the frame, preferably comprising a part of the frame comprising a top tube, seat tube and down tube or a part thereof, can be overlapped.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the at least one support element comprises a front fork support element. The front fork is hereby advantageously supported or supported in the bicycle package, so that the height of the bicycle has limited dimensions relative to a bicycle frame with a mounted front wheel.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the support assembly is suitable for clamping and/or engaging a bicycle part, such as the front fork, thereby determining the position of the semi-ready bicycle in the bicycle package. In this way it can be realized in an advantageous manner that the semi-ready bicycle obtains a stable placement or position in the package by clamping and/or engaging the bicycle part such as the front fork by means of the support assembly, but also supported by the support assembly when removed from the packaging or insertable into the packaging. As a result, further supporting packaging elements are only required to a limited extent or not at all while the semi-ready bicycle is packed in the packaging. This makes it possible to

More preferably, the support assembly of the bicycle packaging is manufactured or can be manufactured from paper and/or cardboard. This makes it possible to realize in an advantageous manner that the packaging is substantially completely or substantially recyclable as paper or cardboard. In this case, such a support assembly advantageously forms a filling member between the front fork of the semi-running bicycle or a further part thereof and the casing thereof at the location of the front fork or the further part thereof. By using additionally provided optional supporting elements of foam material, properties with regard to strength or faster manufacture thereof can be realized in a further advantageous manner.
More preferably, the bicycle package comprises at least one storage container for storing elements of the final assembly collection and/or at least one final assembly tool therein. It can be advantageously realized by means of such at least one storage container that such elements of the assembly collection and tools usable therefor can be arranged in the package in an orderly manner.
More preferably, the storage container is arranged in or attachable to the support assembly. It is hereby advantageously possible to realize that the relatively small support assembly can be compacted with the final assembly and the tools, and for instance a manual, so that it can be arranged separately from these completion operations together with the semi-ready bicycle in the casing. Alternatively, provision is made for the at least one storage container to be pre-fillable with the respective parts. It is further provided here that prior to placing the support assembly the filled storage container can be arranged in or can be attached to the support assembly so that at a later time the combination of support assembly and the storage container can be placed in the casing of the package.
According to a further preferred embodiment, the package comprises a fixing member for fixing the semi-ready bicycle to the package. The bicycle is hereby advantageously secured to the package so that free movement of the bicycle in the package is prevented. Advantageously, a tensioning strap is provided for this purpose. The support assembly further preferably comprises engaging means for engaging thereon by the fastening member. The semi-ready bicycle can hereby be attached to the support assembly and thus to the package after arranging the support assembly in the package. By means of the tensioning band mentioned by way of example, the semi-ready bicycle, or a front fork thereof, can hereby be firmly attached to the support assembly and thus to the packaging.
For example, according to certain preferred embodiments of the present invention, it is envisioned that the bicycle is removable from the enclosure along with the support assembly. Subsequently, the cover can be removed and the bicycle can be transferred from the semi-running state to the running order using the parts of the assembly assembly and preferably the optional tools. It is advantageous here when all necessary parts of the assembly assembly and the tools are present in or on the support assembly which is relatively small relative to the casing.
Further preferred bicycle packaging wherein the support assembly is formed for arrangement in a corner of the packaging, such as against a bottom and front thereof.
Further preferred bicycle packaging wherein the shell is formed as a beam having an elongated narrow base as a bottom and a substantially uniform top, an elongated narrow front, a substantially similar rear, a left side and a right side respectively connect at the bottom, top, front and rear.
A further preferred bicycle package wherein the enclosure has a substantially beam shape comprising a bottom, top, front, rear, left side and a right side.
Further preferred bicycle packaging wherein the support assembly is arranged for arranging laterally asymmetrically with respect to the casing of the semi-driving bicycle or frame thereof.

A first preferred embodiment (Fig. 1) of the present invention is a bicycle packaging 1. It comprises a box 9 for arranging a semi-running bicycle therein. The semi-running bicycle is semi-running with the front wheel removed and the front wheel arranged with the hub in the frame.
The front fork of the bicycle is clamped in an opening 11 of a support assembly 2 created for this purpose. The support assembly 2 keeps the bicycle positioned in the box. As seen in FIG. 3 of the support element 2, two front fork support elements 12, 12' are provided in the opening 11, which are preferably made of paper and/or cardboard or a foam material. As can be seen, the opening 11 with the front fork support member 12, 12' is arranged asymmetrically. This is for the purpose of the in FIG. 1 and 2 shown placement position of the front wheel next to the frame.
The bicycle is held to the support assembly 2 by means of a tensioning strap 4. The support assembly 2 comprises two holders 3, 3' for holding parts and tools. As shown in FIG. 2, the holder 3 is removable from the support assembly 2.
The support assembly 2 further comprises recesses 7, 8 for holding parts of a so-called X frame, wherein recess 7 is suitable for receiving a luggage support thereof. As seen in FIG. 1 it is provided that the front fork mudguard preferably reaches towards the opening
8. Further advantages of such a preferred embodiment are as described above.
An advantage of certain preferred embodiments is that the headset can be mounted in an optimally adjusted manner prior to packing in the bicycle package, so that the end user does not have to do this and, for example, only has to place the front wheel on the front fork. This is particularly advantageous since the optimum adjustment of a headset requires certain skills which are thus not required for the end consumer. In the foregoing, the present invention has been described with reference to some preferred embodiments.
Various aspects of different embodiments are deemed to be described in conjunction with one another with all combinations considered to be within the scope of the invention upon reading by a person skilled in the art based on this document being read by a person skilled in the art. These preferred embodiments do not limit the scope of this document. The rights claimed are defined in the appended claims.

A bicycle package for transport or bicycle transport package for providing a package during transport of a semi-road bicycle, comprising a bicycle frame for delivery to an end user, the bicycle package comprising: - providing an enclosure, such as a box-like enclosure, protection for the semi-ready bicycle arranged therein, — a support assembly arranged in the casing for supporting a part of the semi-running bicycle, preferably the front fork, wherein - the semi-driving bicycle apart from a final assembly collection of parts is roadworthy.

A bicycle package according to claim 1, wherein the assembly set comprises a front wheel assembly, preferably a front wheel assembly detached from the semi-ready bicycle.
